So I have been wanting to make some custom Grill Inserts for awhile for my 1998 Ram 1500. Finally got around to drawing up what I wanted in AutoCAD the other day and writing the CNC program to laser cut it. This is what I came up with. Had to cheat in the middle leg to give it some strength - this is only cut out of 14GA. Should be getting Powder Coated Gloss Black this afternoon. Then its off to the hardware to get some thin mesh and paint it red to tack in behind the cutouts - Should look super slick when its all said and done. Then to pop out the factory honey comb and weld this in with spacers to the grill support bars.

Let me know what you guys think - any advice or comments are appreciated - Thanks!

Ill be grabbing the wire mesh tomorrow hopefully will have it complete this weekend if all other things go smoothly - here's a better pic of the two sections that will make the grille.

Sorry for falling off the face of the earth ive been dealing with exhaust work on the truck.

The M's all fell into the scrap shoots. I could dig them out but I have a feeling Ill be cutting actual grill sections, so I'm sure there will be more.

going to be removing the factory grille tonight when I get off at 4:30. Should have more pics tonight!:signs6:

Here's a pic with the inserts powder-coated. Prolly going to have to cut both pieces in half to weld them correctly to the grille support bars without them being so far back from the grille shell.
