So me and my gf took a late night trip to mcdonalds with her drivin my truck. We sat idling in line for about 10 min then got our food and drove off. About 5miles down the road she snapped the heater on and i feel cold air blowin on my legs. I lean over and look at the gauges and she is running way hot . So pull over at store and buy antifreeze and add it. All is well or so it seems. Stop about ten min down the road for gas and notice coolant dripping under the truck. I figure maybe it was from me spilling some. Head for home and get here with no issues. About a twenty min drive, crawl under the truck in the dark with a flashlight and there is a prob somewhere as the underside off the truck is wet . Seems to be mostly around the xross member of the frame. To dark to see anything tonight but wonder what i will find in the morn? Waterpump maybe?

i have only had the truck since december so i havent had to replace anything yet. Its pitchblack outside but the wettest area seems to be under the front of the motor itself.

Well cant tell for sure in the dark but the cross member of my frame that runs under the front of the motor rite under the serpentine belt is where it is dripping and seems to be the wettest area. Thats why i guessed waterpump.

Had a problem like that about a week ago, all of a sudden it went hot and emptied half the radiator onto the ground. Bad radiator cap was my issue

So heres the verdict.....was pressed for time and needed this fixed so dropped my truck of at my mechanic this morn. Before i leave and after a quick peek he is on the phone ordering a water pump, tstat bypass hose etc..... i get a call couple hrs later he says come get her. It was not the pump but a pipe that flows into the water pump that let go. He says looks like the w/pump had already been replaced.$20 for the pipe,$28 for new antifreeze(ouch) ,$65 for labor and im out the door. He had an 09 chevy 2500 on the lift puttin on a stainless borla xhaust with magnaflow hiflow cats and new exhaust manifold. Thats was sweeet. But why no headers is beyond me. Thanks for all the responses guys!!! Appreciate it!!!
