they both look good. i use the dash mat. had one in my last truck and got one in my 2018. i like them and they fit very well. cant say there any better or not. but they cost more than the ones your looking at. if they have good reviews i would go for it.

I prefer the dash mat as well, but the ones listed are very inexpensive. If you find they don't work for you then it wasn't a lot of money wasted. I've had dash mats in most of my vehicles and have never been disappointed.

I have the "Original Dash Mat" in my current truck, and had one in my 95. Very satisfied with the quality, and have no complaints about them.

First time I’ve heard of these. Is there a benefit or is it just a “prefer the look” kind of thing?

They help keep the sun from baking, and or fading your dash, and in the case of the 2nd gen Dodge's it help's prevent cracked dashes. People that set things on their dash, it helps from sliding around. Also, if you have any glare off the dash, it helps with that as well. And, some just like the look's of them.

Protection from the sun.

Or in the case of my 99 sport, hiding the cracked dash. It went from perfect to shattered in 3 sunny winter days...

After having the dash in my former 2003 crack in multiple places I am thinking about this also.

Tried an ebay dash cover but didn't like the fit. It went back today.

Thanks to Salty Ram, I'm Currently waiting on a covercraft ulti-mat fitted one piece cover in smoke. I'll post how it went. Due to covid, they are delaying shipment till middle of august. Oh well, hopefully it will be worth the wait! If you order one of these, search for a cover craft coupon, you can save 10percent plus get free shipping. Worth the search.

Here's the one I ordered:

I was going to post the Ulti-Mat option just now as it's being advertised as the newest "overall best" design by covercraft as it is apparently custom molded for the exact fit for the vehicle dash it is being ordered for. I plan on ordering one this weekend to see if I like it better than the dash-mat.

I decided to go with the Carhartt branded dash may from cover craft. I’m also stuck waiting a month for delivery but I think it looks the best of all the options

Looks like covercraft rocks on dash covers here. The ULTI-MAT one piece moulded is what got my attention. Hope it really fits and the velcro is just to keep it from sliding off. The ebay covers needed a bunch of velcro to make them conform even after letting them lay in the sun on the dash for a week and trying to hand fit them by folding and pressing them down, it Just wasn't going to work. I wanted something to complement my trucks interior not to cover up damage. If you pay for quality, you will never be disappointed. We'll see...

I finally got around to installing the CoverCraft Ulti-Mat dash cover. It is form fitted and comes with the usual velcro strips to help you snug it down. I'm letting it lay out in the sun and settle but this thing fits like a glove right out of the box. The only reason you might want to velcro it in the corners is to keep it from shifting. It lays out very nice on my dash with no bunching or pooching like the cover that cost 1/2 the price. This is form fitted. The quality is perfect for my purposes and I would recommend this cover if you want something that isn't covering up cracks and holes, (it can do that of course) but to actually complement your truck's interior.

One thing I forgot to add is the flap over the passenger airbag area is free to allow the airbag to deploy in case of an accident. None of the other dash-mats I looked at had that feature. Might be important or not to you but between the great fit, and the safety of the passenger airbag, makes me glad I spent the money.

Lol....I completely forgot that I had ordered the carhartt branded cover from cover craft. Still have not received it.

ETA: just checked my order status and it’s out for delivery today. It’s like Christmas:)

That looks good. I ordered mine from Amazon like 5 weeks ago in black and it's still on backorder with no estimated date for shipment. How do you like the feel of the material? That was my only concern as it looked kind of rough. But, I did read that it was supposed to be an exact fit and opted for this one. I'm hoping the wait is worth it.

Yeah, I ordered mine and actually received an email from Amazon asking if I still wanted it because it had been so long. Of course I said Yes. So, still waiting. :banghead:
