Here is my next project or attempted project: Turn this aluminum chopper headlight into a speaker pod to fit these Hat 3.8" mids and then mount them to my dash just over the oem speaker grills.

Because I love how the tweeter turned out in the pod, I want to try and duplicate it with the mids. The bonus obviously being a better sound compared to firing up at the windshield...

Lol! Yep, I always take the road less traveled, and I often realize that I don't know where I am!

The tweets are currently both aimed between the headrests at the same degree.

Oh, and the last picture is unrelated. It's just that I decided the other day she is my dream girl (much to my wife's disgust), lmao!

Picked up a 2015 Ford F-150 Supercrew Platinum 4x4. After I took one out and seen/felt the build quality, feel in love. Damn thing is so quiet inside, I thought I was back in our Mercedes. No Ecoboost, all 5.0 Coyote for me.

That is odd to me. Not hating but I felt the same way going from my F150 to the Ram.

Boo! Though. We will miss you around here.

Did your L3v2 Mids drop right in factory dash holes? And reason you didn't do the L6v2s in doors? Did the Dynaudios fit in doors ok or did you modify. Sorry if I missed this info in the thread.

The L3v2s more or less dropped in. I just made new holes because they didn't line up with factory holes. They are slightly bigger than the factory mids. Btw, I am about to swap to the L3 Pros for mids, though. ;)

I got the Dyns because so many people recommended them as one of the best mid-bass woofers out there... They fit nicely with an adapter.

The new F-150 is a not the same truck from prior year. I had a 2013 F-150 and this isn't even close. The re-design is crazy nice. Plush....inside. Everything fits together nicely. Granted, I have the Platinum addition. WOW! is an understatement.

The for sale thread got deleted from missing the username/date deal. Didn't think of that when I tool the picture of the box.

The Helix didn't sell yet! I've been getting trade offers, at least 5 so far, but I want the cash. Need some new toys for the Ford. LOL. Once I get bored of the sound system, another adventure will be had. Probably not the Helix Pro though, the regular Helix DSP is just fine.

Gotcha. I knew they were going to different materials to drop weight but I thought the interiors were staying the same. Last I looked was 14's so no change from my 11. But yeah, Platinums are sweet.

What audio system are they putting in the Platinum? And how many seconds until you decide to change it. ;)

The same 10 speaker, I think 10, SONY sound system. It sounds okay, but I will be changing it out....thinking Summer timeframe. Still too damn cold in PA.

Can't seem to figure out a 3-way without doing pillars. From what I can see...tweeters are still in the pillars, but down lower than previous years. No corner dash speakers, just one center channel. I believe Ford still uses 6x8's in the front doors. Should be able to fit my Revelators with no issues if the depth is the same as the 2013's. The SONY system doesn't use CANBus which makes integration before the SONY amp possible.

Waiting for someone else to tackle the new truck for some ideas on running 3-way.

Edit: Have read people complaining about lack of bass. Then you see or read about their settings and it's no wonder. If you attenuate the mid and treble settings, the bass comes alive....same as it does when you tune out the highs with a DSP trying for an ideal curve. They don't realize that if they measured the truck with the SONY system they would quickly fine the highs and midrange being overpowering which drowns out the lows. First thing I did was grab my handy RTA and start turning down the mid and treble setting. BAM!!! We have bass!!

Don't want to run all over David's thread......cause that's never happened. ;). Where in Pa are you? Pa as well here. Over at the F150 forum you will find not as many people as advanced as they are here. That's a good thing, you'll be able to open some eyes.
