The L3v2s more or less dropped in. I just made new holes because they didn't line up with factory holes. They are slightly bigger than the factory mids. Btw, I am about to swap to the L3 Pros for mids, though. ;)

I got the Dyns because so many people recommended them as one of the best mid-bass woofers out there... They fit nicely with an adapter.

I'm liking what I see with your doors. I bet the mid bass sounds more full with authority? Good job!

As for the domes....I've ran domes in many many installs over the years. I've never heard a dome that can actually play in low with any type of authority. Most can't realistically do anything beyond 800hz with a steep crossover. Give those L3's a chance to break in and try to angle up a bit and towards the center of the dash.

When I had my 10fs installed, which are bigger than the L3's you have, I ended up trimming the flange damn near off. I was able to angle them upwards and towards the middle. It made a HUGE difference. The way the corner dash is on these trucks just flopping speakers has them sit almost angled toward the front of the truck when you actually give it a good look.

I made an angled shim so that the 10f's angled upwards toward the seats with a slight angle towards the center of the dash.

Don't want to run all over David's thread......cause that's never happened. ;). Where in Pa are you? Pa as well here. Over at the F150 forum you will find not as many people as advanced as they are here. That's a good thing, you'll be able to open some eyes.

Originally not form PA, but we live in Ashland, right next to Pottsville. Some famous brewery or something is there. Most Pa people know where I mean when I say that...:)

I fish that area often and lived in Pine Grove. I'm only an hour or so from you. Ive been drinking that famous brewery beer for 30 years. Lol. Don't do the math, it wasn't always legal.

Thanks man! The mid bass definitely sounds more full now. Before I went through and sealed everything really well and did all the deadening, it had a little bit of a hollow sound to it.

I hear you with the mids... The only reason I was considering the L3 Pros is aesthetics, IF I am able to make the aluminum pods for the mids. We'll see what happens. :naughty:

Hertz high end 6.5 mid bass drivers, found a guy letting some go that are a steal.

Oh, the Mille (means one thousand in Italian and Spanish ;))! NICE! I didn't know they had a pet name already. :roflsquared:

Edit: I was thinking that's what you meant, but I didn't know you had some coming... Or I thought you might have bought an Aprilia RSV Mille, which is a very machine, too!

Rough cut done, size looks good on the dash. Now to figure out how to turn chrome into matt aluminum... I am gonna start by wet sanding it with fine grit sand paper.

P.S. After lots of reading, I realized that I am not man enough to go through the process of stripping the aluminum. Plus, there is the added risk of pitting it... I might paint or powder coat it. :boobs:

Damn dude that's nice. Now can you live with that in your field of view?

Thank you! Actually, it will only block my view of children under 3 years old, my daughters 3.5 and I don't give a **** about other peoples kids, *****!!! :roflsquared: :roflsquared: :roflsquared:

Sorry everyone, that is a horrible joke... :shakehead:

It doesn't actually block much, and I have the option to grind the bottom of it off or recess into my dash grills or even the a pillars. I doubt that I am going to need to modify anything, it isn't too big at all.

Btw, here is a quick and dirty photoshop of my most recent idea. :naughty:

The pod is a larger diameter than the tweeter (story of my life, lmao). So I am going to make a ring/baffle out of plexi-glass and sand the underside of it. Then install a blue led light (see pic) and give it a nice back glow!!! BOOOOOOM!!!

Right on man! Lol! I forgot about those. :) I am 6' 1" so I sit rather high in the seat. I think maybe the cats in my neighborhood would be in danger, but that's it.

Didn't finish much today... Got the plexi-glass and cut out the circle that will be the baffle/ring for the speak. Did a rough cut with the dremel, and then mounted the circle to my drill and spun it on a file until it was perfectly smooth and round. :)

Side by side, tweeter and mid pod. Not bad. Not quite the bullet shape of the tweeter but close enough.
