Dealership says if i don't get their undercoating don't get any, Krown oil spray will void electronics warranty on my new 2026 ram 1500 rebel level 2 with hemi. I looked it up and it says its a scare tactic to make me buy their stuff but i also seen that it could lead to krown and the dealership pointing fingers at each other if i have any problems that they believe were from the oil spray on the wire connections and leave me stuck in the middle. Also i asked for an extended warranty on the electronics to cover everything for 6 year 140000km and they gave me the gold plan and said that will cover everything but wear parts and when i look online it says ill need a maximum care plan to cover the electronics on a 2026 level 2 rebel they also wouldnt drop from the 6500 price tag they put on the gold plan warranty and they want 2250 plus tax for the undercoating rust proofing and shark protection for paint and interior i feel like im getting screwed here is it just me any comments would be helpful

Have you purchased the vehicle or signed a purchase contract?

It sure sounds as if you are being lied to and gouged on the prices.

seems fishy

Not saying anything about the terms of your potential contract but many people get Krown oil spray here on this forum ,including myself, and never read about electrical issues or experienced them personally . I am not saying your vehicle will not have electrical issues, many do from that year, without oilspray applications beforehand. Not sure if the people your buying from are trying to scare you are simply letting you know in advance that they will not honour your warranty.THEY will not honour for any excuse, anyway. They will put you under a microscope if you try make a claim.Just take the normal NEW manufacturers warranty that comes with the truck if you think they are going to waste your money when you make a claim on the extended warranty.Consider alternative aftermarket warrantees available, and compare them for details.Krown should not void your basic manufacturers warranty,as they have sprayed millions of vehicles annually and I have never heard of them causing any warranty to be invalid. It is good rust protection.Just curious however, what is the cost of the Dealers rust/undercoating?Sounds expensive @ over 2grand.The paint protection is garbage and is just wax..You can Scotchguard your own interior for $10.00.I worked at a Chrysler dealer for a short while ,and they make alot of money on their undercoat and paint protection. They do not actually have many customers buying that package. They charge you for annual underside inspections and touch ups .If you make a claim after for rust they will usually say it isn't covered due to the rust forming in such a way, that it is not the fault of their protective applications. It is overpriced and simply an expensive add on to add to their profit.

That's crazy boss. If you have mice and are worried about critters, just spray it every couple months with peppermint. under carriage nozzle with soap bottle attachment just clean the salt off every couple weeks. I don't see how fluid film could void a warranty, might wanna email them and ask.

I would look for a more honest dealer .
I would not believe anything they say , you have already seen they do not tell the truth.
Find a different dealer.

Don't worry over it.Just enjoy your new truck ,that is the main thing. If you had it undercoated etc . thats okay, and they did a good job I am sure.It will ride quieter down the road.
When I bought my truck a couple years ago ,I opted for insurance to make my payments if I became ill,and couldn't work. Not through MOPAR,but sold via the Dealership.I am 71yo . That insurance probably costs as much in the end as undercoating.I put a claim in 5weeks ago,and jumped through a lot of hoops, going through the process of a accessing those benefits.I am waiting for an Operation, and not working at my regular job. I still do not know if my claim will be approved at least for 3more weeks.Of course they are looking for a way not to pay my coverage.
