I have a DeeZee tailgate assist in the mail. I'm curious if any of you have installed it before or after having a spray-in bedliner and which would be better. Or, does it even matter? Part of me thinks, "go ahead and install it, then the bedliner will be applied around it"... the other part thinks, "wait until the bedliner is put in so the installer doesn't mess up the product".

Then of course, it may not even matter since the DeeZee is on the side of the tailgate and the rear of the bed where I'm guessing it wouldn't be in the area of the bedliner. I'm not sure what areas of the bed are sprayed.

Some places do take off your tailgate to apply the bedliner, so if you are concerned they will mess it up, you may want to just wait on installing it.

Thanks for the answers... I may wait to install it. At least until I find out if they have to remove the tailgate. If they don't, then I could go ahead and put it on.

I have a DeeZee tail gate and like DavidRam said there is no right or wrong because that area will not be sprayed

I installed mine with the spray in liner, not problems because it's on the side of the tailgate. I was actually worried the tailgate wouldn't close with that small shock in there, but it's fine and works great

Ditto no need to worry but do it after to be same so they don't bugger it up or get spray on it.

side note… make sure the people who spray it PUT BACK ON the RUBBER tailgate bushings/stops… they removed mine to do the rhino liner and never put it back on… took me 3 weeks and 2 trips to the dealer and 2 trips to the body shop for the guys to finally figure it out. Tailgate will slide around without them causing the paint on the edges to wear and chip. I never knew bc they sprayed it as part of the deal from the dealer before I picked it up new.
