DeeZee Truck Tailgate Assist

First off, yes I have read all the other threads on this item concerning fitment on some Rams. I just wanted to let everyone know that I called DeeZee a few minutes ago to ask if they had resolved this for 2013 owners yet, and they told me that they will have a new kit out hopefully mid January. I really respect a company addressing the issue and being honest enough to pass up a sale today for a happy customer down the road. That is all for now and I look forward to getting the new kit in the new year .

I have one of their kits. First one rubbed called them they sent out new one in mail. The new bracket and strut worked like a champ and is still kicking. Still confused why it's not a factory installed product. These tailgates are heavy!!! I was always scared kids would drop it on their head

Same here. No issues at all. Install was a breeze and it works great.

My '12 rubbed. DeeZee took care of me, and sent a complete new kit with the drop bracket. I now have an extra shock when it wears out.

Just went the the DeeZee website and they only listed Chevy, Ford and Gmc...

Hmmmm. The kit they sent me to replace mine was a ford kit. You could buy a ford kit. As long as you have the correct torx key you can install it. The ford and dodge have different sized torx bolt. Other than that it's all the same

I have one in my 2011. It works, but when the tailgate reaches a couple inches it makes a single loud popping sound. Haven't been able to see where the sound is from yet.

that could be your tailgate hinge itself. grease it up. mine did that when I bought the truck used last year.

Sounds like the stop washer is in wrong. Review the RAM install instructions, even if you have the Frodo kit now.

Mine does the exact same thing and I dont have a tailgate assist

Just got a Email from DeeZee, the models for the 2012 Ram 1500 will be out of stock until 2/14/2014 Sucks Big Time....

Amazon has the Dee Zee DZ43300 for 2012 Rams. Says it "usually ships within 2 to 3 days".

Just an FYI relating to this…
Anyone considering taking a chance on getting one for a '13 to put on a '14, it doesn't fit. This from DeeZee as I called to check.

Just got a DeeZee assist for my 12, it catches near the top. Rubbed some of the black plastic coating off the cable. Is there a need to have the cable on the list in side? If not it would solve the issue easily.
