Remove Tailgate - Wire Connection Guard?

So, for the first time since buying my truck new 12+ years ago I'm needing to remove my tailgate. I watched a YouTube video and they showed plastic guards for each end of the wire connectors to protect the ends when you unhook the gate wiring from the truck. The guy says they came with the truck and are in the glovebox. I'm 99.9% sure they weren't in the glovebox... is there somewhere else the fine folks at Ram might have hidden them in my truck?

Maybe under one of the seats? I dont remember where i found the ones that came with my 21 BTS. Hell, I cant even tell you where they are now. I never needed them so I must've put them in a safe place I guess lol

Mine was in the glove box. Only the truck plug though. Nothing for the tailgate wiring harness.

Short 1/4 mile distances, but very quickly?


My '21 never had the tailgate connector cover in the glove box, and I have never found one anywhere else in the truck.

Some opportunist FH must have pinched it before I ever received the truck.
By the time I learned of this deficiency, the original selling dealership had closed, and the place I use now doesn't seem too interested in providing a replacement.


Is this the cover or the OE connector plate?

I do that all the time, I can picture the looks on my kid’s faces when some day in the future, they are going thru my stuff.
I would expect a bunch of “ what is this and why is it here”.

Mine was handed to me by the salesman. I did not know what it was, but put it in the glove box.
