Apparently the edge pulsar doesn't work on the 23-24 ram 1500 with Etorque. They have a new version called the diablosport pulsar XT which is not an inline/piggyback to the PCM but something that communicates through the canbus and splits the gas pedal. It doesn't affect the tune so no "power" to be gained but adjust pedal sensitivity and can bypass MDS, stop/start etc. Comes in at a lower price of $439 vs the $650+ for the piggyback model. Wondering if its worth it to bypass the MDS and Stop/start and play with Eco, stock and performance throttle sensitivities. Down the road I will likely put bigger tires so adjusting tire size would eventually be used. Can also be a code reader/clearer and check emissions system for whats working or not. This seems like a nice safe upgrade vs the piggyback. I would never run a performance tune in my truck but would be interested to see if the eco helps with MPG and some of the low performance throttle settings. I put alot of miles (250+) a week on my truck so some savings could be worth the cost of the unit over the next few years.

OVERVIEW

Pulsar XT is an all-new take on drivability and calibration for your 3.6L and 5.7L Ram 1500. Unlike any other device on the market, Pulsar XT is an innovative inline module engineered to keep your factory PCM untouched, with no PCM swap or unlock required. This is the most advanced and easiest way to disable your V8's MDS system to eliminate 4-cylinder mode and keep that Hemi running on all 8, all the time. The built in throttle pedal sensitivity control also helps you fine tune your pedal feel to eliminate throttle lag and make your Hemi drive like you want it too. Enjoy Pulsar XT's shift-on-the-fly pedal programming, with 7 levels changeable through your factory steering wheel controls. The smartphone app allows you to adjust your speedometer for larger tires, transfer case ratio changes and gear ratio changes. Along with adjusting TPMS settings, disabling your Auto Start/Stop, and checking and clearing DTC's. You'll love the way your Ram Hemi reacts with Pulsar XT, with improved throttle response, tire size calibration, and improved drivability running in V8 all the time. You'll wish you would've installed Pulsar XT sooner!*Fits new body style E-Trq and Non E-Trq models**Trucks/Trim Levels equipped with paddle shift not currently supported

I have a pulsar xt on a 2023 with 5.7 etorque. I am
Very happy with it so far, I know it doesn’t add horsepower like other tuners, but the throttle response makes it seem like a whole lot more power. I purchased it for the ability to disable mds and auto start/stop. I also like that it doesn’t mess with original computer that much and it can be removed easily. I left the mds on for fuel savings and I love that it automatically keeps start/stop off and I don’t have to remember to push the button. If I was a salesman I would recommend it just for the throttle response.

@Btrain and @blackbetty14 thank you for sharing the info/details on the Pulsar XT. I'm thinking about purchasing one for my 23 1500 Limited and its very helpful to hear about your real life experiences with it on a truck that has the same set-up as mine. @blackbetty14 if you ended up purchasing it for your 24, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on it as well.

So despite there being no real power/HP gain, it sounds like the throttle will have a quicker response thus the feel of more power off the line? Any improvement in shifting between gears and/or acceleration? I added larger tires (35" Toyo OC AT3s) so will be nice to be able to calibrate the speedometer...it seems to be off by approx. 3-4 MPH when I compare the speedometer to the speed that is tracked on GPS. Have you tried the tire size calibration feature?

Spend 16 minutes and watch this video,if you're thinking of using it to disable mds.

Interesting stuff...seems most of the opinions I see on MDS are against it and would prefer to disable it but this guy seems to know what he's talking about. I actually don't mind the MDS feature so I wasn't planning on disabling it but glad to see the video provides a different perspective that is fact based in support of it.

Thanks for sharing!

I can't comment on mds on my truck,as it got a hi-po cam and the mds delete plugs when it was basically brand new,so it's ran most of it's life the same way Ma Mopar does the MDS delete on the 6 speed Challengers, but on both of the wifes Challengers and our 300 the mds does add a noticable amount to the milege when i make the 500 mile trip to go see my Mom,but then again, that's across the Alberta and Saskatchewan prairies, where you can watch your dog run away for 3 days, flat is the understatement on the Canuck prairies, lol.
Running her 6.4 1320 Challenger in MDS mode is good for better then a 2 mpg gain on a 500 mile trip at 60 mph.
The car will average better then 30mpg with the mds on,and is lucky to make 28 mpg with it disabled, and i've tested it more then a few times.
If you live in hilly country or most of your miles are around town it might not make as much of a differance, but if you're driving where it's flat and the vehicle stays in 8th gear pretty well the whole 500 mile trip,it does make a differance in my opinion
