Anyone here using Diamond Audio subwoofers?

I'm considering a sub upgrade and a buddy recommended them. I have no experience with that brand. Any input?

Thanks in advance!

a local shop around here swears by them, says they are a brand that's not well known but puts out good product for not a big brand price

Idk... I like Boston Acoustics. Even the G2 subs sound nice.

I've heard quite a few Diamond Audio setups, all of them sounded great.
I think they are good, specially for their price.

Thanks for the input, everyone.

Luke, that is what Daniel uses and it was his suggestion to check them out.

I think I'll go measure the depth of the box I have. :D

Will do. I have the upper and mid-range covered, now I just need to tweak the bass a bit. :D

You should see what I did for Home Audio last month!

lol I know you take your audio serious man!

right now I'm in between deciding what to do! can't make up my mind either.

I can get a system that's worth around 900 for 550 that should be loud and clean, or I can get a nice 8" sealed that will give me some nice bass but nothing over powerful for around 150-200. just can't decide if I should spend that extra 350 or not.

Tough decision. I like having bass that doesn't boom at ya but compliments the music and provides the bass response the artist intended. I wanna hear that bass guitar, the bass drum, the bass fiddle. Those frequencies bring the mids and highs forward in the sound stage.

For instance, I'm listening to "Drift and Die" by Puddle of Mud right now at home. I have this huge, but very musical, Elemental Designs sub woofer that just makes the music awesome to listen to. And now and then, it will thump me right in the chest. :)

I can't make your decision for ya but I've always been very happy when I go for quality or quantity.

Oh...the music just switched over to Chopin's "Nocturne in C-Minor" and the clarity is unreal.

So now I just gotta get busy picking a sub for the truck that will compliment my component system up front.

lol yeah I feel the same way about my music I don't really wanna be blown away but want the song to be complimented.

my friend has 2 tweleves in his Tahoe in a box I'm pretty sure is way to small, and they sound really bad. they drown out the actual music and the bass isn't clean and crisp IMO lol

but yeah shop around here swears by diamond.

Yes I am, Jared. Although I am looking at just the spkr (I know a type S Alpine fits the box I have and the box barely fits behind the rear seat) I may also go with a different amp if the spkr wants more power than the Alpine MRP-m500 amp I have.
