Difference in storage bucket vs bench

A dealer nearby has a truck with every option that I possibly need except it is a front bench seat. I am concerned about the storage space difference between the front console style vs the bench. Is the storage the same or is it less? Any pictures of the bench seats will be great as well. Thanks .

The console under the armrest is bigger in the bench seat truck and the centre seat has another storage console underneath it that's close to equal space wise to the lower console storage. Really not much storage room difference. I have 1 of each. Actually prefer the bench over the console. Feels roomier with nothing beside my right knee.

mine's an earlier 4th Gen, but the new ones are a similar idea.

Is there any difference in the number or USB ports that are available between the console style and the bench style?

Not sure on the new ones, but the console only has 1 12V, 1 110 inverter and 2 USB (one charges and the other links to the audio system and charges). I had to add a 12V to plug in my 2-way and cel booster.looks pretty oe, but I put it in myself.

The buckets seat on the bench setup are actually wider than the seats with the full console. I have had both and prefer the bench style because the large center console puts my foot at a uncomfortable angle on the limited style front seat.

I don't believe the newer rams still have the lower storage with bench seats. When shopping for my 17 I had seen older models where it lifted up like that and figured it was about same storage but then I asked a salesman and we went out and looked at one and the armrest opened up but the bottom seat would not. I wouldn't see why they would change that and if they did it's pretty stupid but if your worried about storage definitely check to see if that middle seat still lifts up because I believe it doesn't. Interested to see what you find tho

My 16 has sent it. I think it was an extra option for the underseat storage. Having the bench makes it so much easier to get to things in the back or passenger foot well. I have kids and its great to slide over and tend to them.

My 2019 with a bench seat has a storage area underneath of it. Just lift up and then lift again and low and behold. I’ll take photos tomorrow after the rain subsides.

Thanks for posting the pics. Is there a difference in the amount of storage space between the console version and the bench version? I know in the console version, you get the massive space in the place of the gear shifter (I know RAM has knob). Is the space comparable in the bench style? Thanks .

I can honestly say that no it is not. But for my needs having a deep center console took a back seat as to having more front space legs wise.

Thanks. That’s what I thought. Are there the same number of USB ports/Power outlets/110 V in the front and in the rear as the console style? I am assuming there are rear AC vents? I have also seen some cup holders against the lower side of the dash. Is there some additional storage there as well?

I have a dealer who has a couple of bench seat style truck at a really good price about 2.5 hours from where I live. I don’t want to make the trip just to figure out if I would like it or fit my needs. I know I am asking a lot of questions; thanks in advance.

Lol, there is never such a thing as too many questions when you are trying to learn. You have several USB ports located in front as well as outlets front & rear. As far as the storage near the lower part of the front dash, you can push a button and out pops another cubby. Now it’s not set up for drinks, but contains a pin slot and a large area to put other items in. When I get my truck back today, I’ll take more photos for you.

I know there are others on here like me with a bench seat so hopefully they can chime in while you wait.

I have the front bench seats and here is what I like

1. Pop out drawer under the radio is hidden. I didn't realize it was there until a couple weeks after owning the truck lol.

2. My Laramie has a CD player which is in the storage area under the seat so nice place to also store cd's.

3. Front seats feel much roomier with the open space between the driver and passenger. More lateral leg room as well.
