I live in Belize, Central America. There is only two seasons here, hot and occasional rain, and hot and rainy (June through October - Hurricane season). I use the 4x4 function almost daily to go up a 200 foot hill where the house sits. Up is 4x4 and down is 2x4. No towing involved.

My 2016 Ram has 73k on it and has been pampered with maintenance ever since I bough it. I am wondering when I should change out the transfer and differentials fluids.

I just completed replacing the oil pan and its filter. Next on the schedule are the spark plugs.

If you have 73k miles on the truck and you havent changed the diffs and transfer case, that truck isnt pampered. Way over due., I'd bet the transfer case fluid is black.

I just did my 2019 classic at 45,000 miles. I used mobil1 75/90 in both differentials and mopar transfer case fluid @ $31/qt. Ugh

Check your manual,as there's a good chance it still calls for 75W-140,which in your climate is probably better to use then 75W-90. You could split the differance to with 75W-110,if your manual does call for 75W-90

I have a 4x4. The only rear differential fluid on the shelf was 85w -140. It was put in since the attendant drained the fluid before check availability. So, I had not choice. What to do now?

I think you'll be just fine.

Nothing and don't worry about it,there's not much differance between 75W-140 and 85W-140.In your climate the 85W-140 is probably a better choice anyways
