These Guys where the best around but the rear outside bearings are not supposed to fail in these trucks life normally, it was a costlly mis-com for me cause I thougt it had been done and now they will force all customers to do it for future gears changes.

My Truck had a rough life with wore out springs and 138k miles so they where real tired and just gave way...like the weakest link always gives when the others are beefed.

Its all brand new from stem to stern now..$$$$...

I bought the powertrax because it is better for people who use their truck as a daily driver but also want off-road benefits of Detroit. I read a lot about all three choices and decided for me the smooth quiet operation of powertrax is right for me. I have read great things about the Detroit and not so great things with the auburn. Research them all and decide as it really depends on your driving style.

Then for you powertrax is perfect. Detroit is ideal for someone who is usually off road. They don't behave nearly as nice on road as a powertrax will. I should have mine installed soon I will give you more info.

If it wasnt for the fact that I have seen more than one DTT grenade under to much power/tq I'd say go that route, Have yet to see an Auburn do that. Do not go with a locker unless you want to hear it click everytime you turn.

Knock on wood, I still have the stock LSD in there. When I did gears 4yrs or so back I didnt have the cash on hand to do the LSD at the same time. Figured when it goes it goes and I'll fix what i have to. That was 50k+ miles ago. I take care of it and it takes care of me.

I've had a DTT pop on me at the track before. It felt like I got rearended by a freight train when it happened. One too many hard ass launches for it I guess lol

Im worried about it crappie out on me and destroying the gears. Not that I really beat on the diff, very rarely spin the tires..... well at least not now, might be different once the gears are installed lol

Really, the gears were an issue with the c-clips in the earlier rams, 03-04 and early 05's. Some work fine and last forever, others are blown within the first 30k miles. Mine has ran great thus far minus a pinion seal leak (need to get that fixed soon and will probably do an lsd then) and I rough it quite a bit. I dont do a lot of smoke shows although it is super easy to do now days. When it goes it goes, and then I have my excuse to pick up a dana 60 :D

I remember reading about the diff issues on another site before RF was created. Mine will spin em if I try hard enough lol. Hmm, so now do I put a new diff in, or risk it and have the gears installed with the stocker...... man I hate makin decisions like this lol

If you have the funds then go for it while everything is apart. Peace of mind instead of possible rear end pieces. So far so good with mine but the thought is always in the back of mind "is this the time". Once my stall goes in the next few weeks then replacing my stock LSD is next.

Definitly if you can afford to do it all at once then do it.

That's the plan for me. Ordering Sunday. Is the power trax or auburn a better option.
