I have a 97 Ram 2500. I have owned the vehicle for 10 years and have recently noticed my headlights have become extremely dim. Also The bulb in my passenger side headlight is constantly breaking. I have replaced 4 bulbs in the last month or so. I am checking and double checking each time I replace the bulb to make sure it was properly and securely installed, but the glass of the bulb keeps breaking after a week or two. Has anybody else experienced these problems, and if so any information would be greatly appreciated.

Start checking chassis grounds. What you've got, according to the Dodge FSM that is a prime culprit of a messed up ground.

Should be some on the drivers front fender, one by the power steering...one somewhere else up front but it escapes me.

Also check your PDC as well.

Thanks for the locations. I guess it is a curse and a blessing that I haven't had too any problems out of my dodge. I will def get in there tomorrow or this weekend and see if I can't isolate the problem and take care of it.

Check for heat-damage at the headlight switch itself. I had the connector TO the HL switch go bad. An I.R thermometer aimed at the switch might even tell of a problem there. They are about $30 for a good one, and is becoming one of my favorite tools.
