I decided to port and polish my TB

Here you can see the factory lip

I started working from the edge to the inside with 60 up to 2000grit on a dremel and some old fashion elbow grease

Here you can see how much I took out. I went with what I was comfortable with.

It's no neck snapping difference but yes.
I have a smother idle.
A lot better throttle response.
And it pulls harder in the upper RPM's
It was well worth my 3 hrs. of work.

Thanks guy's
I have to pull the TB aging this week so I can half shaft it. I didn't have and replacement screws for the blade.

I think I'm going to get done cutting compound and polish it to a mirror shine.

Believe it or not that is the first time I've ever ported anything.

I was gonna suggest polishing compound! You're one step ahead. I may try this.

That's awesome, I wish I had the knowledge and skills to do a DIY project like that. Good job!

List the tools and parts needed so others can give it a try.

I used a 10,000 rpm dremel with sanding bands. I started with 60, 80, 120, 200 grit. Then by hand I went to 400, 800 grit then wet sand with 1,000, 2000 grit and finished it up with a felt buffing wheel on the dremel using 3M extra cut compond and glaze for paint.

I know it probably not the best method but its what I had in the tool box. I also know its not as good as a Moe's TB but I like the be able to mod my own parts and not just buy them. And if 3hrs of easy work got me just 2-5hp then I'm happy.

Nothing wrong with your workmanship.

Don't discredit yourself, you did a very good job,and i dare say, your throttle body will hold it's own against anybodies.

After driving all day yesterday and this morning it seems to not take as much throttle to drive and pass. So far I'm happy with it.

I was going to ask you if that was something you were planning on.

This is a nice cheap way to get some power... I can't see spending 350 bucks on a new one. I spent 380 bucks on a highly modified intake and TB for my G8 and then I send in my stock units and get my 425 dollar core charge back. To me it's a no brainer!

Yeah I'm gonna half shaft it. I didn't have any screws to replace the ones in the shaft with.

I think on my G8 he just mills the areas between the screws and the sides and between the screws, but leaves the OEM screws in there and re-loctites them.
