Do these look good enough to buy?

Hey, guys I have a 96 ram 1/2 ton 8" lift and 37s, I'm looking to swap in a D60/70 setup from a same year truck.. Would like advice on if these look good enough to buy and how much to offer. And what all to get off truck if anything other than the axles. Thanks!

They look pretty good, but the front looks like it had something blow up over it.

As for other stuff, I don't know.

I know Merc225hp has recently done a D60 swap front and rear.

Since they're coming off a truck being parted out, his bottom end might have blown up. lol Since it's only the front axle (and the entire thing at that), that's what I'd be thinking.

He said..... tranny is shot. & motor is really wet on front cover. most likely its the front main oil seal & gear case cover on.the motor. it is a cummins the front cover usually leaks & front main crank seal. ive replaced a few of them already on my other cummins same with the vaccuum pump oil seal

Get the guy to give you the BOM numbers so we can look them up and see what's going on. BOM can be found on the tag on the cover or stamped into the diff tube.

Certainly could be some great axles. You might wanna know what gears are in them.
It'd be cool if they had 4.10s and a posi in the rear already!

You'll have to get conversion u-joints and/or new driveshafts too.

The BOM numbers will tell him what gears are in it and if it has a lsd in it. At the end of the BOM number string will be a -1 or a -2. 1 = 3.55 gears 2 = 4.10 gears.

There are no combination u-joints for this swap It would be a 7290 to a 1410 and they are not made. So either the DS gets a new 1410 weld in yoke when it is cut down or the diff gets a new 7290 pinion yoke. The front DS is fine no mods are needed to use it with the 60 u-joints are the same.
