Hello

Im new in this forum and thought i could find some help. Im sorry for my bad english but i hope its okay.
So the problem started few weeks ago while driving the cruise control randomly went out and i had "service shifter" written on my dashboard. It went away every time i restarted the car. I didnt see a huge problem out of it because it happened maybe once a month. Dealer said that theres some kind of computer behind the steering wheel that needs to be replaced (I dont know if its true or not). But they said it would cost 700$ and i thought its not worth it. Some time went by and the car started having more issues. Random fault lights and error codes. One day it started throwing like 20 different errors at once on my dash board while driving. All the lights were flickering and errors came in and went out. Now my car doesent even start. It says: "service transmission continue in d do not shift or turn engine off" But the engine is off and in Park mode. The car wont start anymore at all, 4 times out of 10 the engine does like 1 full rotation and shuts off when trying to turn it on. I think its some kind of electical issue but im not that familiar with newer trucks so any help would be thankful

Best regards.

I would start with getting my battery and alternator tested if I were you. Many of these electrical problems can be traced back to the battery having lower than normal voltage. I don't know what your mileage is on the truck and four years old seems like a little too soon to replace a battery but not if you have a bunch of miles/kilometers on the vehicle. If its not the battery I would start by checking electrical connections for corrosion.

Hello, thanks for your reply! The vehicle has driven 95k kilometers and the battery voltage seems to be okay, also the alternator. Today the car started normally, no errors what so ever. After i test drove it for 10 kilometers only the check engine light came on but others havent yet. Can you tell where to look for the connections? Is there any common spot where they get corroded? Any ECU-s that might have loose connectors?

It has nothing to do with the battery and alternator. Your truck sounds like mine, but mine is a 2010. One day all the dash lights came on, gauges started acting up, EVIC messages, etc..

I changed the battery, cleaned the contacts, checked alternator, nothing helped. Took it into the dealership and they diagnosed the TIPM. Changed it out and still not working. WIN module changed. Still not working. Get that truck into a dealership before the powertrain warranty expires.
