Hello guys,

I need your advice. I have a 2010 Dodge Ram Laramie with the 6.7l cummins engine, I want to go catless because I am having issue with clogged cats because the diesel in my country is not that great. Can you guys point me in the right direction? I know that I need a catless exhaust system and a tune but which brands do you recommend?

Thanks a lot,

Luis

P.S. English is not my native language, sorry for any mistake.

Hey thank for your reply.

I am outside USA but I can order without problem. Why do you say diesel don't have cat system? I think I saw 2 of them. Can you explain yourself?

Diesels have particulate filter box and a combination muffler/scr catalyst (sort of like a gas engine catalytic converter but not quite) and if you delete those you can go with straight pipe if you wish or add a muffler.

You do need to tune the vehicle so it will run properly and not throw codes. In my case I purchased the following:
  • Edge CTS-2 Insight monitor with Cummins unlock
  • EFI Live Dodge CSP4 tune package
  • EFI Live Dodge transmission tuning
  • Cummins tuning switch CSP4
The CSP4 switch allows me to select one of four tunes that came with the package.

You may or may not need the Cummins unlock for your year truck.

I also installed the following to go with the monitor and tune package:
  • EGR valve and cooler removal with block off plate
  • Throttle valve delete
  • Edge expandable EGT probe kit
  • Pillar pod mount for Edge CTS2
Here is the Edge CTS-2 Insight monitor in the pillar pod. The EGT probe kit allows you to monitor the exhaust gas temperature to make sure you aren't melting your turbocharger.
