My tires were filled with nitrogen for free by dealership but heres a good example of why not to waste money on it, got a little chilly here the other night and tripped the tire pressures, one of my tires no longer has nitrogen thanks to a screw, take a guess which one lol

unfortunately unless the dealer keeps their equipment up to par you don't get pure nitrogen and is very expensive to actually keep the equipment in good repair. Other thing that most don't do cause it takes forever is the correct way to purge a tire. You have to fill them up and let them bleed out a couple of times and most won't take the time to do it properly.

By volume, air contains 78.09% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.039% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases.

Also, you would have no ability to air down, unless you carried a tank of Nitrogen with you I guess. Sounds expensive, I would rather just be responsible, and check my tire pressure every now, and then.

I ran high pressure nitogen for a while on my other ride. I felt it held pressure a little longer but otherwise was a waste of money IMO.

Oh this debate again. Nitrogen is easier on equipment as it has less moisture that is why it is much better to have than standard "air" especially with pressure sensors. Looking up what air has probably is not exact as the makeup would be different in a compressor because it has water in it too so there must be at least some hydrogen to make the h2o that we attempt to drain when we use our own compressor but do you really know what you are getting when you get it at the gas station. The nitrogen molecule is 4x the size as well so it will leak less over time. If you have go pay a lot for it the place is just using it to make money. The place I go and have for years charges me nothing to do it and he likes it because the nitrogen machines are way easier on equipment as there is not much if any moisture getting in to the system. The more nitrogen you can fill your tires the less they will fluctuate and the longer your sensors will stay corrosion free which could save you money long term. Pressure sensors cost a pretty good amount themselves. You can always top off with "air" if needed too. It won't hurt it but will minimize the gains as stated air does have a lot of nitrogen anyway.

I switch all my vehicles over to nitrogen when I start seeing the tire pressure monitor come on. I hate dealing with trying to get the air right. I switch over to Nitro and my problems go away. Say what you want, but in my opinion and experience, it's worth it in my mind.

Here in MN the temp changes so frequent that my tire pressure fluctuates between 5-9PSI. Nitro I get fluctuation but as soon as I get the tires spinning it goes back to normal.

I actually bring it to a chevy dealer as they're the only ones around who have it. They purged my tires 4 times and i get refills and adjustments for the life of my truck. They do my oil changes as well (family is one of the managers at the dealership) so when it's in they charge/even them up.

Exactly Mach 50F today and who knows what tomorrow will be or next week probably back to negative. It helps a lot with TPMS. I don't think it should be used as a way to gouge people.

Same here, +5c one day -25c the next, down to -40c in the same week, tires were done at fountain tire, only the 3 with nitrogen trip, and topped off quite often at dealer, now i just top up with the compressor

First thing I have done when I get a new truck or new tires is have them filled with nitrogen . I've been doing it for years and have never had any issues. The local tire dealer does it for free for me. I just got new tires and the temp has been up and down within 15 to 20 degrees difference and have had no issues.

We'll see once we start getting into the negatives, but I've never had any issues before.
