Have 2013 ram 1500 sport with 55000km on it. I haven't changed anything on it as far as electronics.

All of a sudden the key fob will not lock the doors it will only lock drivers door but it will unlock all 4 doors. Both key fobs are acting the same. Tried the lock button on both front doors and they will only lock their respective doors not all 4. However they will unlock all 4 doors.

I took it to my trusted mechanics shop for over 15 years they replaced batteries in the fobs checked contacts and connections and even scanned the truck and cannot find the issue.

I will not take it to my local stealer ship as their service department is pathetic. There is another dealer 2 hours away I can take it to. Just want to know if anyone has any ideas what it could be before I take it in?
Thanks.

can you take off the door panels and take a dmm to the lock wires at the actuators to see if they are getting power when you hit the buttons?

Try a little "magic" first...
Disconnect negative battery terminal. Insert key in ignition & turn it on for a few seconds to drain all the capacitors, turn ignition off again, remove key and close all doors. Re-connect battery. Press key fob lock button and hold it for 10 seconds. Then press unlock button and hold it for another 10 seconds.
Hope it works!

If the reset is not working I assume the lock switch inside the driver's door is toast.
The switch panel pops right out. Maybe you could switch it with a functional one to test.
(Any friends / co-workers with a 13 & up 1500?)

If the actuators inside the doors do unlock, they have power.

So the magic did not work. I'm going to start checking the switches wiring etc once it stops raining. Let you know how that goes.

Bummer!

My bet is on the drivers side lock button panel.

Is it safe to touch the positive and negative cables together once they are both disconnected to drain any power?

I have a '13 Sport crew cab & my driver door lock would work intermittently with the fob and door panel switch. The dealer had to replace the actuator.

My 2013 Crew Cab 1500 is doing the same thing. My driver side lock button that's on the door doesn't work. I also have intermittenting lock issues with the fob. Sometimes it locks all 4 doors and tailgate and at times just the driver and tailgate. This is very aggravating!!

H Rg6guy,

Has your dealership addressed the locking issues at any point for you?

OP - Had you been able to sort it out yet?
If so where was the problem behind it?
Curious to know and a good info for the knowledge base here!

No i havent figured it out yet. Ive had all the door panels off tested connections cant find the problem. The parts guy (only guy thats halfway smart) at my stealership told me to have them re flash my body control module as that has worked for others with door lock or power window issues. So its booked for the 19 i hope it works. Its only 60$ so failry inexpensive to try that first. If it dosent ill have to either live with it or start selling limbs to pay the stealerships outrageous 125$/hour shop rate. I will keep you posted.
