I have a 2025 Ram with only about 8000 miles on it. I had to use the manual key to unlock my doors to get in my pickup. While driving to work the automatic locks did not lock. When I parked and tried to lock the doors with the lock button, on the door, they wouldn't lock. I had to press the lock knob down to lock the door. Then a couple of hours later I was going to disconnect my battery in hopes of reactivating the locks and I tried the fob to unlock and lock before I disconnected the battery. It worked, the fob did unlock and then lock the doors. What is going on??

I have a 2014 with push button start, touchless door locks etc.
I have had the same thing happen, usally when I try to get back in uptown.
Fob will not do anything, But the truck will start if I push the start button on the dash with the fob.

Then after ,it will work for a year or 4. It has happened 3 times? since new.
I have never done anything to try to fix it, but I presume the RF receiver is the problem.
On mine it is on the back fire wall I think, if the back window or brk light leaks can be a issue, but I don't see any leaks, it is in the garage all the time.

First time it happened, I did not have the little key for the door, so wife had to bring her fob.

The fix, ????? A hammer?

BTW, I tried a new battery in the fob, no difference, also when the wife brought her fob, ir would not work eather, so its not the fob, thou these can cause problems when the contacts get crap on them and some times the contact plates will come unglued and move, I have not had that problem.

On yours , it should be a warranty issue.
But unless it don't work for the dealership, good luck with that.

I’ve only had it happen once where I had to use the key. I’ve had it happen a few times (less than 5) where I have to push other buttons or hold buttons to get the doors to unlock.

What I think caused it.
1) Random Ram electrical glitch. (Most probable)
2) Someone using a jammer of some sort nearby.
3) Aliens, solar flares, sunspots, and other radio wave type interference.

2018 1500 Laramie. Same issue… door locks intermittently respond to fobs (new batteries) and driver door lock buttons. Seems to happen more often in colder weather. Dealer replaced BCM with no results. Another dealer flashed the BCM; no luck. Spoke to a Dodge mechanic who has seen this, and resolved, several times. Said possibilities are 1) RF receiver. If you hear clicking near the fuse box when fob is pressed, rf mod is working. 2) low main battery voltage (mine is brand new). 3) pinched wire in connection between driver door & body, or rear driver side door & body. Suggested opening and closing each door while using fob… no luck. 4) driver door module located under the driver door panel; controls all locks on the truck (including tailgate & RAM boxes). Heading to that mechanic’s dealer next week to probably swap door module and hopefully resolve. If not, I’ll live w the problem. More to come.

Update… problem resolved. Culprit was a faulty lock actuator in the driver side RAM box causing spurious signals thru the wiring harness.
Glad you got it figured out, thanks for the update, I’m sure will help somebody in the future.

I understand the OP's issue was figured out. The most common thing that interferes with the key fobs, is LED's lights. Either aftermarket ones installed in the vehicle, or LED signs in the area. The cheap ones emit a lot of electronic noise. I had a spot in a parking lot mine wouldn't work. It took me a few weeks to figure the common spot it would always happen in. When I stopped parking in the area my issue went away.

Sounds like what is happening on my 2018. The only way to lock or unlock at times is manually and the doors won’t lock automatically when you drive down the road, but sometimes if the truck sits everything will work normally for a little while.

Sort of like the left turn signal canceling on my 23. It works for several months and then it stops. After a month or so I start thinking about taking it in. And then it starts working again and continues to do so for several months. I think I’m on my 3rd cycle of this nonsense and my 3yrs warranty is up in Sept so not sure if I’ll get an opportunity to have it fixed in time or not.
