I have a 14 express with the factory 5.0 uconnect radio. I have a pioneer dvd/CD player that I would like to replace it with. My question, is it possible to maintain the factory hands free if I add the pioneer?

No. You'll have to use the pioneers Bluetooth.

Correct, you will have to use the Pioneer Bluetooth. I just replaced mine with the AVH-X3600BHS. I ran my Bluetooth microphone up the pillar and across to the mirror. It works great but I had to cut the bottom off of the metal bracket to fit the double din.

Cyborg2337 - did you install a back-up camera when you put your system in? I just installed a Pioneer head unit and back-up camera. The only thing left to do is tie one wire into the reverse trigger. Do you know what wire that is?

I'll double check the manual... The instructions with the camera wire said to tie-into a pink/green wire on a main harness behind kinda behind the emergency brake. I tried that and it didn't work. I found other things online about tieing into a white/blue wire there. I'll also check my harness instructions.....but, I didn't think I was tieing into that.

On the pioneer manual (i just chose the 4600) it says to tie into the violet/white wire from the headunit. The pink/green wire is the parking break wire. That lets the headunit know that the parking brake is on so you can view dvds

What do you do about the truck features that are controllable from the 5.0 screen after you change it out?

You won't be able to change them. So anything controlled through the radio make sure you have them set at what you want.

Sorry, I did not install a back up camera. I know there is an input specifically for it and the wiring should be pretty simple. Not sure on the colors though. The wiring harness instructions should have it. I bought mine from Crutchfield who is awesome and their customer service is great. I also would recommend a bypass for the DVD/parking break. I got one from Amazon and it works flawlessly. Hookup for that was easy, directions came with it.

The truck features are lost once an aftermarket is installed. You can get adapters that can be used for some things like steering wheel controls, Nav, back up camera, etc. I believe those are bought from Pioneer and wired in. My Pioneer HU came with Bluetooth and a USB cable, which is really all I wanted. But I can get the other plugins from Pioneer.

What's to be lost removing the 5.0? Other than the steering wheel controls. I'd like a back up camera, don't really have any complaints about the stock stereo. Would it just be easier to get a factory back up camera installed?

All uConnect functions. You have to set them before you remove headunit.
