I have a 2006 2500 with a 5.9 that has recently developed a horrible drivetrain squeak in the vicinity of the front drive shaft. About 5000 miles ago I installed a Daystar 2" leveling kit. Since installation I've been getting a vibration at about 40 mph that intensifies with speed. Its been suggested that the squeak is a U joint...the vibe I don't know...any thoughts?

Define this "squeak".... Stock shocks?
Have you had an alignment since the leveling kit install?
Sounds like you might have some hub bearings going out.
Possible...... I am in the process of replacing mine... they make a wooowooowooo sound pretty much sounds like a wheel out of balance minus the vibration..

I have not got an alignment yet and the shocks have been replaced for the change in travel. I had a buddy listen and he says its not coming from the wheels but the driveshaft.

It didnt feel loose but from what I've read you really cant tell unless you drop the shaft. I am currently deployed to Kuwait so that will be tough. looks like the front drive shaft has a normal U joint on the front and a CV joint on the rear. Do I need to change both and if my leveling kit is causing this is there a fix such as diffetent U joints.
