Driver door rust

Just noticing this as my 3yr warranty is about to expire.

Booked an appt and hopefully it goes well. I'm expecting a new door. The service manager also asked if I'm serving my truck elsewhere and I said I do my own oil changes and maintenance and keep a.clear paper trail. He says to keep warranty valid, it needs to be done by a qualified technician. Almost told to go to hell but I just said I'll deal with that if I have any powertrain issues.. what a ****.

Fortunately it's one 1 door. The edges are bubbling towards the front and at the back of the door I spot chipping which is seen in the last photo. Check your doors guys!

You'll never get a door our of them for that.As far as I know their warr. is only for rust perforation.You'll be lucky to get them to even repaint it, that would be the best they would do. IMHO.Not saying it's right but..........

I get mine Krowned every year just to give it a fighting chance.

The number of 4th gens I see driving around rusted to bits is unreal. Mainly the early 4th gens, was hoping they got the rust issues sorted out as I've got a '17 as well. Good luck with the dealer, hope it isn't too much of a battle. Do you get your truck rustproofed?

Rust on a 2017 is concerning. This got me thinking, and I don't mean to hijack the OP's thread, but this could help the rest of us avoid this. So here's a question for all of you.

I have some Dynomat to put on the inside of my doors when I replace the speakers, but I also have some Fluid Film to use, too. My 2001 started rusting through the lower door panels so I thought about doing the Fluid Film inside the doors and not only the undercarriage. Well, it's doubtful if the Dynomat would stick to any metal that's been filmed, but I also don't want any moisture to be sealed behind the Dynomat. What would you do?

Maybe Dynomat down to a certain point inside the door and film the bottom? Would running a heat gun/hair dryer on the metal to evaporate as much moisture as I can before matting the metal make a difference?

Or am I just overthinking this?
