After I turn it on, it stays on for about 2 seconds then I hear a click and the heat switches off.

Any suggestions on where to start troubleshooting?

Thanks.

You’ll need a scan tool that can retrieve the codes from the heated seat module. Most likely cause is a heating element is open.

Let me know if you manage to find the fix.

Bumping to see if anyone has found a common fix on this? Having the same issue in my 2011 Laramie. Have heard it could be a bad heating pad.

That is the common fix.

Mine does the same, the fix is to replace the pad. If you have cooled seats, the air channel pad is also part of it. I think it's around $200, IIRC. I might repair it this fall, though I just lived with it last year. It will require hog rings and hog ring pliers (maybe $15-20 for both). You can watch a YouTube video by The Seat Shop, if you want to see how to remove and reinstall the leather cover.

Mine was doing the same thing, I bought a new seat cover from the Seat Shop, took the seat apart and checked the heating pad and it was fine, swapped out the cover and now my heater works again. Not sure what I did but my butt will be happy come winter.
