I asked my local dealer to add the sales code for DRL’s to my 2017 3500 whilst they were fitting my remote Start. When I picked up the truck I was told that the technician had completed the task, but it dark outside and I had no way to verify.

Turns out he just programmed the truck so that my low beams are on all the time! Still no DRL option in my vehicle setup menus and no turn signals operating as DRL’s.

If you were in my shoes would you bother taking the truck back in, being inconvenienced for more time, or purchase one of those plug in modules that does the reprogramming automatically via the OBD-II port?

Thanks in advance

Pretty sure you got the only DRL option available on your truck. I suspect you have the quad headlights.

Personally I would take it back in as you should get exactly what it is that you want...

If you don't have the Laramie headlights from the factory your parking/blinker lights will not be illuminated. It will be either your low beam or your high beam. If your truck did come from the factory with Laramie headlights then there may be an issue. I had the same thing happened the first time I activated my DRL'S the option to turn them on and off was not in my screen. I know there are some differences between trucks depending on what configuration they had that causes the setting to be flagged in the radio. I did not do mine with the OBD Genie so I cannot comment on whether or not the setting will come up on the screen in all trucks.

My truck has the Laramie projector headlights. Sounds like the tech must have entered the wrong code. Thanks for the feedback!
