Replacing factory projectors in my 2015 Longhorn with new VLAND LED projectors. The kit came with a wire for DRL that runs to the fuse box. My question is 'Is this wire needed for DRL if I change the configuration values listed below in Alfa OBD?

These are the settings I've compiled in reading the 700+ threads...

DRL Configuration: Optional DRL
DRL Lamp Location: Dedicated
DRL Dropout Enabled: Yes
LED Dedicated DRL present: Yes
LED Low Beam Lamps present: Yes
LED High Beam Lamps present: Yes
LED Front Park/Marker Lamps present: Yes
CBC I/O Left Dedicated DRL Lamp Output present: Yes
ECU Config 3 DRL Customer Setting Enable: Yes
Cust Set Menu 1 Daytime Running Lights CSM: Yes

Is there anything listed that should or should not be changed? Thanks for your

That list should do it, depending on the lights them selves, but the dedicated DRL could also need:
Under ECU qualification: Control‐Dedicated DRL: YES
Plus need to find wire from the fuse box dedicated to the DRL's (left and right)

If your truck came from the factory with projector headlights, then the dedicated DRL wire is in the plug at the headlights already. You'll want to hook the DRL wire from the headlights to the headlight plug on the truck and not the fuse box. There's adapters for projector headlight trucks that have a dedicated DRL wire , if not you can tap the truck wiring harness.

The setting look correct, keep in mind DRLs illuminate when the vehicle is in gear and the parking brake is not set.

If you used high beam lights as DRLs you need two relays and some wiring to make work better

I just want to say thank you for this compilation. It helped me restore my flashers and DRLs that disappeared after installing an aftermarket but identical to the ones removed) set of LED headlights on a 5500.

Thats the one - gets connected to a piggy back fuse, #27 I think . Its an ignition switched power source.

I bought my 2009 Laramie with these Vland aftermarket HID lamps hooked up on my truck. Problem is that the original owner did not use the conversion harness to switch from quad lamps to the same plug as the projector lamps has. Neither did he use the red wire dedicated for DRL to the tipm fuse connection.
It seems that he tried to hard wire them instead and it's all screwed up bc now high beams are always on in auto and in on and in drl mode.
If I switch the light selection dial to full on then the high beams stay on with low beams except the driver side high beam.
In auto both high beams and low beams stay on and in off its the same when in drive.
In DRL mode in park the DRL's glow but when in drive both high beams and low beams light up.
How do I fix this mess so that it works like it should and with just the DRL's running in day time selection ?
I have the OEM projector lamps and I am considering switching to them also instead.

My '16 has the projectors and AlfaOBD allowrd me to set the turns (or what ever front light I should choose) as the DRL's with the CSM on settings menus to turn them on or off. There are settings for Canada and Europe, though.

Looking at the '09 ram 1500, those options are there also. Not sure if the system distinguishes between night and day for the. If headlights are on, DRL's should be off.

Ya it's a cluster ***.. they are nice lamps though. Maybe I can try rewiring them correctly myself with a multi meter.
