This kinda depends on the setup. One of the setup questions is how to setup the factory eq (low, mid, high in the audio settings on your dash). Might check with the installer and see if they set the low as the sub control, which is one of the options. Another question is if you have an amp in the system. As for the flat eq, most of the install companies will not mess with the equalizer as that is a user preference type of thing. It is just easier for users to use the in-dash audio settings as overall eq settings, maybe more so with stock system. The eq in the DSR1 is prob best used for a nuisance frequency or if your a purist with certain genres in mind to tune to. The real settings to double check is the crossover settings on the dsp and make sure they are set to each of your speakers. The dsp crossover will remove the parts of the eq that isn't right for the speakers. If those are set correctly, check out the trim levels and see if the set them around max. If everything checks out, mabe double check your polarity of the speakers which is easy, tones on youtube and phone has tester i think. After this you'd prob need to start measuring things to see if you need to start adding more power. =)
one side note, if ya have an amp and they tuned the system to max at a certain volume, like mine is set to 29 right now, and you max that volume, increasing the eq can damage the speakers if they get overloaded too long. not real likely, but just a possibility. think it's only like +5 gain maxed, but not real sure anymore.
