Dual sunroof question

We have the dual sunroof and pull the panels most of the time just for light. I am sure in the summer we will leave them closed because of heat. My sister had a Ram with no sunroof, On Christmas day she drove on ice and rolled her truck multiple times. It landed on the roof and thank god she is ok. My question is what if we should do the same thing how would the sunroof do. That is something I never gave a thought to.

Have you ever seen a broken windshield or any other window in a vehicle that rolled over? Exactly..... That's what will most likely happen to the sunroof glass... And they aren't cheap to replace...

Windshield glass is tempered. I don’t know that sunroof glass is.

All glass in a vehicle is required to be tempered by law except the windshield. It will shatter into tiny squares.
A windshield isn't tempered but it is laminated. That is why a windshield cracks age all the others shatter into little pieces

Windshield glass is TEMPERED and LAMINATED. I believe the rest of the glass is only safety glass.

The expense of the damaged Sun Roof would be the least of my worries in a roll over.... Most likely the vehicle will be totaled.

Windshield glass is not tempered. Tempered glass will not crack. Tempered glass shatters that's the safety feature of it. The whole process of tempering the glass cuz it stresses inside of it to create the shattering effect. How does why a windshield is a laminated not tempered, if it was tempered and something struck your windshield the entire windshield would shatter and you would not be able to see. The windshield of the vehicle is regular annealed glass. Usually two sometimes more layers are laminated together lamination is the safety feature so that when it cracks it doesn't fall in on the occupants the holds of glass together the same way window tinting will hold shattered glass together for the most part on your other windows.
