I think my E Brake is stuck. When i turn the truck on the Brake light flashes indicating the E brake is on. When i pull the release and the e brake seems to be releasing but the light keeps blinking. When i drive you can tell that the e brake is on because there is alot of resistance. I checked to see if the cable was jammed but it wasn't. I checked behind the rotor on both back wheels and it looks like the E brake is released. Any thoughts? Thanks

That might be the light for low brake fluid. Have you checked your reservoir?

Mine did exactly the same thing.

Found out that the parking brake had broken at the rear wheel. it was not releasing. Piece finally broke off and wedged.

Had to pull axle to repair it so I did rear end fluid change

You had to pull the axle shaft in order to get the brakes out? I just did my rear brakes (including new parking shoes and hardware) without pulling the shafts out. It was some extra work, but possible.

I guess 'had' wasn't best choice of words. Needed to replace broken parking brake. It did make job easier.

that is what happened to mine, the shoes rusted and were stuck, and needed to run a new cable.
