The fuseable link blows for my electric steering. The fuse goes right on the battery post. 2013 Ram 1500. Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks

Wires are probably rubbed through and shorting out somewhere in that circuit.

Wire goes in a big wire loom. Don't see anything wrong.

Unplug from steering rack, ( if possible ) should be. Connect back to battery, blow or no blow. If no blow, its probably in rack. Its what i would try. If it blows parked.

Now if its only driving then likely in the rack.

IMO, sounds like a failing rack, especially if you followed the wires and they look good, only a good tech can tell you for sure.

Any check engine light, or any other light?

On another thought, fuse blowing can be caused by over working the motor, so in theory if any of the steering components are "in a bind" this could lead to the rack working too hard and blowing the fuse. Maybe jacking up the truck safely, cranking turning left and right to see if it turns freely unloaded/off the ground.

Sounds like the same thought, different paragraph. Lol. I was thinking over worked motor could do it too.

Had to switch gears in my mind. Was thinking complicated steering system, then... oh its just an electric motor, gonna follow the same rules as all electric motors, lol.
