Recently had the fuel pump changed. About a month later I get small emission leak code and large emission leak code. Then the gas cap light came on. Changed the evap pump on top rear of tank. Installed new Gas cap. Cleared codes. They came back on in less than an hour. Anyone know how to check for leaks or know what else I can look at?

My 2018 6.4 Hemi 2500 has been to the dealer 5 times now for gas cap message and engine light. They now have changed everything to do with that system completely, and the gas cap 2 times now. Waiting to see if it comes back on again and what the next step would be.

I still have the emission codes and gas cap light but now I'm getting a strong gas fumes odor outside the cab when I shut the truck off. Then the other day it died while making a turn almost causing a wreck. I've changed the gas cap twice and the evap valve over the gas tank at the rear but no change. We don't have emission testing here so nobody is set up to do a smoke test. What should I be looking at?

If you cant find any local shops that have a smoke machine I hate to say it but ask the dealer to smoke test it they 100% should have one its used for more then just emission testing. It sounds like you have a rpty big leak It probably has something to do with your fuel pump install maybe it didnt sit right or something broke during install.
