Even though it's not the same as the 3/36, if they try to deny you, take it to court. They still have to prove you caused the issue don't they?

Magnuson Moss doesn’t apply to extended warranties because they are technically defined as a service contract rather than an original factory warranty the car came with.

Understood but you always have the option to fight it if they want to claim the airbags you added to the rear caused the cam to self destruct.

Didn't see this, but curious. Is the lifetime transferrable?

Read on another forum that 11/30 is the last day to purchase the lifetime MaxCare warranty. Has anyone else heard the same?

I heard that 4 years ago. But sounds like it might be for real this time.

Understand, but they sell it as, and call it, a warranty.

As an alternative (and because I didn't know about MaxCare/Lifetime at the time), I went with the nose-to-tail warranty/contract offered by my Credit Union, who was financing the note. Covers pretty much everything for the next 4 years (the life of the note), with unlimited miles, free towing, free jump/gas service, reimbursed lodging if I get stranded out of town, etc.

It ain't much, but it ain't bad at all, and I still have coverage under the original factory warranty (I get to test out the factory warranty today - thanks Check Engine light!)

Are the other warranty extensions transferable? Other than lifetime?

I believe all of them are, except Lifetime.

depends on the truck...but usually around $2500-$3000.

I don't think it applies in canada.

no

No, the internet and maybe some dealerships may verbally call it a "warranty", but all the contract documentation and ad copy from FCA calls it a Vehicle Protection Plan.

The only time "warranty" is officially mention in the Max Care is stating when the original vehicle warranty is up and this vehicle protection plan takes over.

Walks like a duck, talks like a duck but it is no duck when it comes down to the sign contract and the legalese verbiage they use to avoid calling it a warranty.

^^That is a critical distinction. A "protection plan" does not give us specific consumer rights and expectations as a warranty does. That said, for those of us that purchased the Lifetime protection plan because we keep our vehicles for 5+ yrs and 200k miles, this is value protection at the right price. Following the plans maintenance schedule is the key in the event you need a $5,000 repair at 150k miles.

I've been thinking about jumping on one of these for the Caravan I just got the wife. I'm not so much worried about the engine blowing in the next 5 years as I am the head unit or power liftgate, etc taking a crap. I was hoping I'd have awhile to make a decision but looks like that's out the window.

Typical giant corporations screwing the very people that made them! SMH!

Well guess I’ll be sticking to the ol’ reliables and easy fixers then.

Next will be the end off parts supply for older vehicles to force people to buy new.
No such animal as a ol' reliable, easy to fix vehicle anymore, hasn't been for going on 20 years, except of course to those who just conveniently forget about the real problems they had with 'other' cars/trucks, oh to be so blissfully happy !!!!! Actually I did three back to back warrantee's, that in the end were less expensive than the MaxCare lifer. Not sure one could do that now, but it worked for me. Covered a range of small, minor things, never any major item(s), but was worth it when it took the dealer (three actually) 4 months to figure out a check engine light problem that would not go away. So after, a total new wire harness - engine and body-, new push rods, two new heads, new ECM and trans CM, ABS sensors, complete fuel system change out - fuel pump, injectors, etc. etc. - temp control unit, and gobs of other stuff to 'fix this. BTW the harness was a 2004 Rumble Bee, the repair was begun in Aug 2016 and the harness was unique to 2004/5 trucks. There were two in the whole US/Canada,Mexico, Australia, Germany, UK, and Panama, yes only TWO. FCA shipped it air express from Puerto Rico, put it on, did NOT solve the problem. You know what it ended up being ?? A slight oil drip on the power steering pump sensor unit. That caused the code BUT that code was NOLT listed in the code listing. They had the truck 5 months like I said, and there were 40 Man=weeks labor time documented on it until it got fixed. Cost me $100!!! Was shocked they kept trying to fix it, they would have been better off just changing the motor out, or something. But the extended warrantee paid for it all, less my $100 !!!!!! And then the truck got stolen, recovered within 5 days, only minor damage. Then a year later stolen again, never to be recovered. It e4nded up in Mexico for sure, a friend of mine saw it down there - it was unique with some add-on's other trucks did not have, on purpose to make it distinctive. Being driven by a Mexican Federal Cop - of course !!!!!!

That being said I already planned on driving my 2017 until I die. Buying that lifetime warranty gives me huge peace of mind!

Yeah, I can confirm, I just reached out to Bob Cline at Zeigler (chryslerfactoryplans.com) and he confirmed. I was going to buy a lifetime maximum care in the spring, guess I'll have to do it now. Not the optimal time being right before Christmas and my kids have a Santa list as long as their arm, but at least we found out before time runs out....
I read the same thing on the other forum. Somebody on the Jeep forum said they contacted one of the major warranty dealers and they also confirmed it. I reckon I'm going to have to take the plunge myself next week before its too late. I love my RAM but there's no way in hell its going to make it as long as my old Silverado has with only minor repairs. It would suck to still be making payments and have to come out of pocket thousands of dollars for some ******** that should go 200K plus miles trouble free.

what is the cost for a 2017 long horn

I’m going to use Chryslerwarrantydirect.com myself because they do 18 months no interest financing. I believe the lifetime Maxcare with $100 deductible is like $3100-$3200. Just go to their website and plug in the numbers and see what you come up with.
