My 2019 Ram classis 5.7 just turned 35,000 miles yesterday. It's been perfect since September when I bought it.
It's been pretty cold here in Southern Illinois for the past few weeks. The other day it was 7 degrees. When I started the truck with the remote start I heard a short (1-2 seconds) squeal and then all was quiet. Didn't think anything about it.
Today, at 18 degrees, I started it with the remote start and it squealed for 10-12 seconds (a hellofa long time when your engine is squealing!!), and then it quit. I was just about to turn it off when the squealing stopped. Scared the heck out of me. It wasn't long enough for me to determine what it was, and I was too far away.
I think it might have been a pulley or power steering pump but I cannot be certain. It didn't sound like a serpentine belt slipping. Hope it wasn't the crankshaft getting wiped...ha.
Anyone else have this issue? Any ideas? I drove it about 30 miles and everything was perfectly fine. Re-started it when warm and not a peep...one of THOSE issues....
