engine swap, is it me or..

So whenever the v6 blows in my truck I'm going to drop a new motor in it.
Is it just me or does it just seem easier to everyone to drop a hot small block chevy and th350 trans in it? No computers, no wiring harness. Just put in a painless wiring block and hook my lights up, weld in a set of motor mount tabs and a universal trans mount and get the drive shafts shortened with a chevy yoke on it. (My truck is an st so no power anything except steering). I might lose the a/C but it wouldn't be a daily driver anyway.
I already have a chevy engine out in the storage building out back that needs a rebuild.....I could call my truck a Ramvolet.

if I wanted a chevy I would buy a chevy for a couple bux more you could put a crate mopar in and still have a real truck (my opinion)

To get everything done would be upwards of 20k unless I go find a wreck and scavenge it. At least according to the 2 places I've spoken to.
And if I'm going to swap motors I want more than a stock engine.
Besides this route I don't have to worry about computers or any of that mess. Give me an old "dumb" motor any day! No laptop needed, no special harnesses, no computer chips. Just a few hand tools and get to it!
