Looking to possibly swap my 2005 5.7 with 212,000 miles on it with a rebuilt 5.7, as well as a rebuilt transmission. I'm sure someone has done it. Any suggestions and pointers? Also looking to redo the suspension and eventually repaint

If the truck body and chassis is in good condition, do both if your going to.
Aside from a long block replacement, replace anything that rotates on the engine. Or you could research a crate motor for the truck. Either way have the transmission rebuilt at the same time, truck should be good for another 200k and probably cheaper than a new(er) truck

That's what I was thinking, I learned to do body work while incarcerated which will be half the cost. I just need to start with the front end suspension, then tires, then windshield, then everything else
