I have a new (2026) RAM 2500 with the Cummins engine and have an "errant connector" hanging out in the engine bay. Can anyone identify what it belongs to and were it needs to go?20260314_124758.jpg20260314_124807.jpg

If you trace it to the other end, it will have a 110V plug there. That is the Block heater connector. The end you have goes on the block heater, and should be on it already. The other end plugs into an extension cord.

Make your dealer connect it, as well as install a block heater if there isn't already one. I have never seen a Cummins without one but it is really cold here so all vehicles come with block heaters installed.

I'm in agreement now that I've done a little research. My 2021 had the block heater lower in the block behind the oil filter. This a Gen 6 with all the filters being relocated and I'm thinking that the heater is now located somewhere near the upper front.... and in spite of the oil filter being relocated (that's the canister it's laying on), it once again is located behind the filter !!!
Thanks for your timely help though!!
