Evic alternative

I know in the boating world you can tie your sonar/gps display into the engine diagnostics and have the gauges display on screen while you are running WOT. Is there something similar for the Ram trucks to have the evic information displayed on the MyGig or aftermarket head unit? I have an express without the evic but it also seems like it may be more useful on a touch screen interface even for those equipped with the evic. Really the only thing I am after is transmission temperature for when I am towing so if there is something just for that it would be cool or maybe I am overlooking the way to see it on my little dislpay.

would this do the trick with an iPod? It lists all kinds of data logging and what not but doesn't say it will display tranny temp. Also, with the 11/12 encrypted PCM will these odb2 type devices work?

bump for somebody that might know.

i know in the 3rd gens you colud get a drivers side A pillar with pods in it for gauges, but at least on my truck the A pillar has airbags in it, so i don't think they can make pillars with pods. Sooooo, you could still get a gauge and mount it somewhere else in the truck and then you just have to run the wires and put a sensor in.

Oh well I assumed the sensor was already there since that information is available through the evic. I guess I was looking more for a way to access the same information the evic had access to

If you have an Android based phone, buy the app called Torque from the app market and get a Bluetooth sender for the obd2 port and the Torque app will display all sensors readings from the factory computer. Fully customizeable screens.

I don't have an android phone (corporate blackberry) but I could buy an android mp3 player or ipod if I needed too. What is the best bluetooth odb2 sender?
