Exhaust manifold tick

I believe my truck has the tick. It’s a 2008 1500 HD 5.7 with 180,000 miles. When I’ve previously bought parts, I learned that the 1500 parts don’t work on my truck and have to order the 2500 parts. I guess it’s a weird configuration in that it’s basically a 2500 without the shocks.

Everything I have read says that the 1500 will accept shorty exhaust manifold and that the 2500, you have to do some mods.

What mods do I have to do? If I keep the factory exhaust manifolds, does milling them flat down and replacing the mounting hardware solve it?

I tried searching and couldn’t find any answers. I’m not good with this forum thing.

You should be able to reuse them if they're not cracked.

Yes yoiu can sand down your factory manifolds they wont re warp.

Look up my posts. I just did this repair and have photos and all in the posting. You can sand down and resurface the stock ones and just replace the hardware
