I believe my truck has the tick. It’s a 2008 1500 HD 5.7 with 180,000 miles. When I’ve previously bought parts, I learned that the 1500 parts don’t work on my truck and have to order the 2500 parts. I guess it’s a weird configuration in that it’s basically a 2500 without the shocks.

Everything I have read says that the 1500 will accept shorty exhaust manifold and that the 2500, you have to do some mods.

What mods do I have to do? If I keep the factory exhaust manifolds, does milling them flat down and replacing the mounting hardware solve it?

I tried searching and couldn’t find any answers. I’m not good with this forum thing.

You should be able to reuse them if they're not cracked.

Look up my posts. I just did this repair and have photos and all in the posting. You can sand down and resurface the stock ones and just replace the hardware
