Exhaust mod

I was hanging out with one of my friends last night and he has a 09 trx4. Well he removed the exhaust from the muffler back and it sounds amazing so I'm probably gonna do that. Just have one question though, he has the standard side exit exhaust but I have the duals out the back so I was wondering if anybody knew how to mount the tips without pipes?

buy a turndown and dump it off the intermediate pipe? That will also help keep fumes out of your cab

This is just temporary until I choose on an exhaust option

Yeah I have the bumper with two slots for tips so trying to find out how to mount the tips since no sports came with the side exit exhaust :/

Yupp, whole truck is Even with dirt and pollen on my truck I can still see reflections

Get an exhaust shop to run the straight pipes for you. There will be some popping and odd sounds at shift so just be prepaired, best think for ya to do is put an elec cutout on the truck that you can open and close when ya want to.

It might sound good idling and reving, but it's going to sound terrible when MDS kicks in and on shifts. That is, unless you are running a programmer. If not, be prepared for your truck to sound like it's farting on hard shifts.

I was behind him when we were driving and it sounded fine

I went to a local muffler shop and had them cut just the stock muffler off of my 2011. They welded in a "single in dual out" 40 series Flowmaster in place of the stock muffler. I had them leave the rest of the stock piping including the resos.....personally I think it sounds great.

Basically it was just a muffler swap everthing else stayed.

What size is the exhaust on the 2009 ram with duals is it 2.5 or 3"? Looking at replacing the stock muffler with a dual in and dual out and and x pipe to make it even out.

3" to the single in, and I THINK its 2.25 after the muffler to the dual pipes out. But, if you are replacing the muffler and all that jazz.........3" is what you are looking for.
