How cheap and easy an install are you looking for? Shorties (bolt right in), though you sitll have the crappy factory Y pipe, or longtubes that will require customization?

The 5.7 has the very best sound and wants to be heard.....no better way than headers. Imo

I also tow a 5k travel trailer, wife ain't crazy about the the sound but I absolutely love it.....more of it under load.

Concerned about clearance for exhaust pipe running down drivers side with fuel tank occupying that space

Pace Setter sells an off-road y pipe. This will not affect the gas tank because the pipe runs on passenger side like stock exhaust. You need the headers and y pipe. You may have to “trim” the bellhousing a little. There are plenty of write ups on this.

You have to route the pipes the way the factory did, can't old school it straight back.

I use Pacesetter long tube and ory all 3" diameter. Thought I'd try true duals with cross connect out each side. It really hurt the low end and couldn't tune out the loss. Used a pair of aero 3030xl. Sucker was lou20160609_120117.jpg d. Pulled the true duals off and went back to the Y pipe and one aero 3030xl and low end power was back... my gas tank is relocated to were the spare was mounted..

I am leaning towards the pacesetter medium length headers. But I have been reading about power loss than can this be overcome I want to tow travel trailer in the future also wanting to do a cat back exhaust with dual pipes exiting same side

Pacesetter LT have20151008_130922.jpg always worked for me with a straight through flowing muffler.
