Exhaust Question

I am wanting to put an exhaust on my 03 1500 Hemi. I have been looking around and all I can find are 2.5" exhaust kits. I am pretty sure that the Hemi comes with a 3" exhaust. I don't have much knowledge on exhaust systems but wouldn't that cut down on exhaust flow, thus taking performance away?

Stock manifolds then its 2.25" or 2.5" to the Y then 3" single. So yep 3" to the muffler then single 3" out or duals 2.5" out. This is assuming you want to stick with a Y setup.

You'll be OK. Stock is 2.5" into the muffler so you won't be losing any thing. You can use an adapter to up the outlet to 3" if you want. Or, just put a 3" tip on the end with an adapter.

What kinda system and what muffler are you looking at? SI/DO? DI/DO? Y/X/H pipe?
Flowmaster, Magnaflow, Borla?

Stock is 3in from the Y to the muffler, SI/SO is 3in out, SI/DO is 2.5in.

Or save some coin and just replace the restrictive muffler and call it a day. Days end you will have the same result but with more money to spend else where.
