If you've never watched this video,it's another good one to spend 13 minutes to watch. He goes into more detail on the hemi's lack luster oiling system then Tony does.thats pretty much the point that UTG in the video posted was making, the lifters are almost horizontal, it is what it is theres not much to do about it. those grocery getters running 5 or 0w20 mystery oil (with extended OCI) idling all day long and driving always under 1500 rpm will be the primary victim of lifter failure.
funny enough, even though this is the first time i have watched one of his videos, his perfect recipe for success is what I already do. drive it like you stole it, good oil (5w30 5w40 i prefer euro spec) change the oil often (3 to 4k miles max for me) avoid unnecessary idling
bingo
One thing nobody ever mentions is the head gasket, the oil hole in the head gasket is a tiny little hole, and restricts oil flow to the rocker shafts even more
We look into the Hemi lifter failures and the dreaded Hemi tick
We unpack the lifter oiling issue that plague the late Hemi.Powellmachineinc.comIf you want to support us financially https://cash.app/$PowellMachine
Another one that's worth watching if you haven't watched it
Is MDS Damaging Your HEMI? The Answer May Surprise You!
I feel like MDS has been unfairly made the culprit for the lifter failures we see on Gen 3 Hemi engines. In this video I explain exactly how the system works...
