Any one know what the stock pipe diamater on an 08 1500 5.7? I want to get a Magnaflow from DB and I need to know which muffler to get. single in dual out, does it matter if its center in to dual out? Also whats the difference in the size's, 14'-28'? Sound? And will they all fit? I want a dual side exhaust with dual tips but Magnaflow doesnt make that set up for my truck. I even emailed them and they said they would keep it in mind since they get lots of requests! But any way I guess Ill just order the muffler, and get a local guy to fab up the pipes, unless anyone knows something I dont. Which wouldnt surprise me :)

I would get the Magnaflow all day before buying a rustmaster...I mean Flowmaster...not knocking your huntram03, but Flowmasters reputation for rotting from the inside out speaks for itself.

To answer the OP's question I believe It is a 3" pipe from cat to muffler..

Yeah TE flomaster has a good loud sound. I have one on my Dakota rt and it'll wake the neighbors when I crank it up in the morning :) I like the magnaflow cause it is less restrictive and not as loud when you crank up. The Ram is my work truck and I don't want to scare my clients! So it's a 3' pipe going into the stick muffler?

Yes 3" pipe from the Y to the muffler. While your doin exhaust you might as well get a magnaflow Y pipe to replace the stock restriction Y.

The shorter you go On length the louder it will be. That is the 14"-28" part by the way

3" in / 2.5" out, use a center inlet muffler.

The difference in length means a difference in sound. The shorter it is, the louder it will be. You can fit up to a 24" long can under there with no problem. I put on a 18" Magnaflow SI/DO and really like how it sounds.

Do not go with Flowmaster you will loose performance on your truck. I speak from experience and from having 4 different exhaust systems on my truck. I personally would go with magnaflow. I have a complete system for sale with 2 1/2" Magnaflow hi-flow cats and a magnaflow muffler and chrome tip stock exit with all the hangers.
