when we bought our truck with the clad 20's, I thought having clad wheels was ingenious as I could replace just the outer cladding if needed. WRONG. Have to buy the whole wheel.
Best of luck with your 17.

On EBay, some seller offer what are called "WHEEL SKINS"...they are SORT of like the cladding, but I would imagine not as durable, but they may be worth a shot, it you can find them in your wheel style.

Yeah not sure of the quality on those. Would be interested to hear from someone who has them. I mean they aren't all that expensive, so if you have the aluminum wheels or even steel wheels these might be a good cost effective alternative. Still nothing beats aftermarket.

I was told by the dealer when I bought mine that if I messed one up I could just replace the cladding. Are you guys saying that's not true?

You can get the cladding off for sure, from what I hear, it's a PITA to remove, but it can be done. I have just never heard of anyone replacing the cladding, nor have I heard of anybody actually purchasing factory cladding from a dealer.

woow . that's really bad to hear that they dont sale the cover alone :(
I have found the skin cover and there a good idea and cheap but as I use my truck off road and thats the reason why my wheels got scratched in the first place . the skin could break easly .
I have an other idea that I can remove the covers and paint the wheels black :)
am going to my dealer soon so I can be 100% sure next week . and by then I will know if they chrome clad covers are sold alone or not .
and about why my Laramie truck doesnt have 20 inch wheels.
in 2011 the Laramie that came to my dealer came all with 17 inch wheels with out the ram box and no navigation. I was so pissed of but in 2012 they came with all of that plus the 6th gear . I dont know why . but after comparing the the tire prices between the 17 inch and the 20 inch . am not mad any more looool

Old thread but heres a 2026 update. Mopar does not sell the chrome clad cover only. Aftermarket wheel & rim shops are mixed about whether their wheel skins will work. My 2017 Bighorn has the typical 5 spoke 20" chrome clad covered wheels. The actual rims are cast aluminum (pn: 5YJ14TRMAA). But, my rims have a filler material around each spoke to fill in the gap between the cast spoke and the chrome clad cover. So, even if I rip the chrome clad cover off the rim, the aftermarket chrome clad wheel skins will leave a similar gap between the new covers and the OEM spokes. So what I need to know is what is the filler material Mopar used? And I cant find that answer anywhere.
