So anyone else notice that as the truck gets broken in the exhaust gets quieter?

So when I first came home with the truck it had 300 miles on it (came from NY to RI) and i put the pedal to the floor it sounded nascar-ish and let off throttle and has a nice throaty popping sound but I dont get that sound anymore...

seems as though it quieted down quite a bit...

Anyone else notice anything like this? Thoughts?

Yes, but not Nascar open header to mellow. Over the years I have come to understand that a new production engine and exhaust system go thru a break in period. My 2018 6.4 was louder and noisier when new, then it is today with 4200 miles. As the engine breaks in, rotating parts take a set as does the exhaust system.

It could tone down a little and get more mellow, but most of it is probably the fact that you are use to the sound.

This. My charger had resonator and mid muffler delete, straight pipes all through, and was loud when I first did it, but I dont ever remember it being 'too' loud later on, until someone else who wasnt used to it mention it. Just becomes what you know, and hard to remember what it was.
