Factory Order Timeline

On 17 March 2025, I placed my order. That has been 1 week ago. So far, RAM has communicated that they have received the order. The next step is scheduling the order.

For those who have received their trucks from a factory order, how long was your overall wait and how long was the wait from the scheduled production date until the truck was delivered to your dealer?

I ordered a 2019 Ram 1500 DT on November 3, 2018 (built in Michigan) and it was at the dealership on December 13, about 6 weeks from order to delivery.
I ordered a 2024 Ram 2500 on November 6, 2023 (built in Mexico) and it arrived at the dealership on March 6, 2024, so 4 months. It was shipped in mid January but took until March to travel by ship to Baltimore then by truck to PA.

Wow, that is quite a difference. Mine is a 1500, so Detroit assembly. Hopefully it will be 6 weeks or so. We shall see.

I ordered a 2025 Limited on 11/12/2024. It was scheduled on 11/19/2024 and went into production on 11/23/2024.
It completed the build process on 12/5/2024 and shipped on 12/16/2024. It arrived at the dealership on 1/2/2025.

Four weeks since I placed my order. It has been 3 weeks in the scheduled, but not yet in production status. Getting frustrating.

Don't get frustrated! I ordered my 2016 the end of July in 2015, It was built the day after Labor Day in Detroit, that was September 8th, I called the dealer on the 10th asked when it would be there, their answer was "We don't even know if it's built" I told him, call me when it comes in! 2 hours later he said it was there. That was a Friday, we lived in Indiana at the time, 6 hours from Detroit. I picked it up on the 11th, on Saturday! If you ordered exactly what you want, it's worth the wait. BTW never had any issues with it!
I traded it in a year ago, and took one off the lot, now I'm looking to get what I want!

Yeah. I texted the salesman to see if he had heard anything more than I can see on line. He stated that their on line tracking is updated sporadically but he has not heard anything concerning. Sounds like your situation.

I did order exactly what I want. I have not found exactly what i want in a nationwide search. The closest i have come was one that has a sunroof but was otherwise the same. The other was a Laramie, so had a few extras and was about a $10K upgrade. I agree, it will be worth the wait.

Finally went into production yesterday. Now, hoping the absurd 2 month target to produce and deliver comes down.

My 2022 3500 took a year to be built! Almost 5 months to build, & then it sat for another 6 months in the desert, & then another month on the train & truck! Between covid & the engineer strikes I thought I would never get it.

I've ordered 3 of the last 4 in 2019,21,23 I bought off the lot in 2024 because I could not wait.

In each case they have taken about 6 weeks to get to the rail yard then another 3-5 days to get it from there
