Factory Remote Range

Is there anyway to boost the range of the factory remote? Other than the Jeremy Clarkson method?

Doesn’t the Uconnect system allow for cell phone app upload and then remote starting through the app? Maybe I’m confusing brands and need to read the manual. I’ve not bought in to the Uconnect system myself btw, on my new 2018 RAM, as I’m done with these technology monthly fees at every advancement and turn.

It does but I'm not paying a monthly fee for a service like that. I'm already paying for a data plan on my cellphone, unlimited. I'm not paying for a data plan, at slower speeds, so i can unlock/lock/start my truck via the interwebs.

On my 03 SLT I had a “Autostart Inc” system installed. 3500 foot range on that one which was very nice. My factory OEM system seems to be more “line of sight” limited to about 1000 feet maybe?

I’m am totally with you there brother!!!! I’m sick of the nickle and dime crap. But it ain’t nickle and dime is it. It cold hard (earned ) cash.

Same with Sirus/XM radio. I’m not gonna pay for radio commercial free or not. Not when I’ve got an IPod with 6800 tracks on it. Tigers Truck Tunes. Put that thing on shuffle and it’s beautiful !

The variety is nice but they play the same dang song over and over on all channels. I have a computer with 17k mp3s and a phone with spotify. I do miss the hard drive my 2012 radio had though.

In earlier VWs we would find a wire under the dash and tap into it with another wire for extended range. Curious if it can be done on rams
